Few cover albums can be considered legendary, but Raising Sand is certainly one of them. The release by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss is one of the greatest works of the genre, and now the duo has reunited more than a decade after their collaboration debut.
Plant and Krauss announced Raise the Roof for November 19th via Rounder Records and to celebrate the news they released their cover of "Can't Let Go," a song originally recorded by Randy Weeks and famously sung by Lucinda Williams.
Like Raising Sand , Raise the Roof will also be produced by T-Bone Burnett. The album will feature covers of songs by Merle Haggard, The Everly Brothers, Anne Briggs, Allen Toussaint, Geeshie Wiley, and Bert Jansch . The album will also include an original song by the duo titled "High and Lonesome".
