King Crimson founder Robert Fripp and his wife, singer Toyah Willcox , shared a cover of "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions .
The duo launched a video series called Sunday Lunch last year. Many incredible covers were posted. Interpretations of songs by Nirvana, David Bowie, Metallica, Billy Idol, The Rolling Stones, Judas Priest, Guns N' Roses, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper and more are on Willcox's YouTube channel.
On the 16th, the duo performed a cover of Steppenwolf ," with Willcox performing on an exercise bike in a white t-shirt.
This week's kitchen cover features the couple tackling the classic "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" by the German rock band Scorpions. This time, Toyah is dressed as Catwoman and, at one point in the performance, wielding a whip. The two are once again joined by Sidney Jake, playing guitar while wearing a gold mask.
“Toyah, Robert and Sidney deliver another classic with a feline twist!” Willcox captioned the new video. Check out the performance below:
At the beginning of 2021, Fripp and Willcox performed Led Zeppelin 1971 song "Black Dog." They also posted a New Year's message for their viewers in a separate video.
“For 2021, I wish for an inclusive, just, and compassionate society,” Fripp said in that clip. “And how I’m going to fulfill my wishes [is] by strapping on my guitar and rocking out like an uncontrollable fireball of rock fury.”
Moreover, Willcox revealed in February that the video series began because Robert Fripp was abandoning the presentations.
Last October, former King Crimson vocalist and bassist Gordon Haskell passed away at the age of 74. The late musician was invited by Fripp to join the band in 1970 after the departure of Greg Lake , their original vocalist.
Bill Rieflin , the former drummer for King Crimson, also passed away last year. He was 59 years old.
