Rob Zombie denies that the remake of 'The Munsters' cost $40 million.

The director also denied rumors that the film would premiere in theaters

Rob Zombie used his social media to deny some rumors regarding his film The Munsters . The musician and filmmaker wrote and directed a remake of the 1960s series, which is expected to premiere on Netflix later in the second half of 2022.

In his statement, Zombie denied that the film's budget was what was being speculated on the internet and also stated that the film will not be released in theaters, on Paramount Peacock platform , as some people seemed to believe.

“Where did you get the idea that The Munsters cost $40 million? Damn, I wish I had that kind of budget,” Rob wrote. “To give you some perspective, if you add up the budgets of Halloween 2 , The Lords of Salem , 31 , 3 From Hell and The Munsters all together, it wouldn’t even reach $30 million.”

“The film was also never planned for theaters or Peacock or Paramount . It was made for Netflix from the start, which is great because it’s the biggest streaming platform. That was agreed upon long before I got involved with the project. I have no control or say over that kind of thing. It’s a Universal . But the internet loves to invent rumors that somehow become facts that end up stressing the fans,” he concluded.

According to Rob Zombie, The Munsters is scheduled to premiere on Netflix this September, along with the spin-off Wednesday , based on The Addams Family , directed by Tim Burton .
