The classic TV series The Munsters may get a film adaptation written and directed by Rob Zombie , according to the website Bloody Disgusting . The premiere would happen in theaters simultaneously with its release on NBC 's streaming platform, Peacock .
Combining horror and comedy, The Munsters aired in September 1964 in the United States, coming to Brazil a few years later on TV Globo and, later still, on SBT . In 1966, the story received its first film adaptation with Monsters Unleashed.
Rob Zombie already has a long history with cinema, having directed the remakes of Halloween (2007) and Halloween 2 (2009), and the cult horror films House of 1000 Corpses (2003), The Devil's Rejects (2005), The Lords of Salem (2012), 31 (2015) and 3 From Hell (2019).
According to websites Murphy's Multivers and Bloody Disgusting , which specialize in cinema and horror films, the new film version of The Munsters will star Sheri Moon Zombie , Rob Zombie's wife, as Lily , and Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman .
The cast will also include Richard Brake, Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia (from the series Lost ) and will feature a special appearance by Cassandra Peterson, Elvira from Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988). More information about the adaptation should be released soon.
