Metal Periligrim channel , transcribed by the website blabbermouth.net, Rob Halford, vocalist of the legendary heavy metal band Judas Priest , said that the new European tour will likely leave some important songs from their career out of the setlist. The tour will begin on March 11th in Glasgow, Scotland.

Halford said: “We’ve already had this conversation about trying to put the setlist together. And after 19 studio albums it’s like, ‘Oh my God, where are we going? If we don’t play ‘Breaking The Law,’ there’s going to be screaming; if we don’t play ‘Painkiller,’ there’s going to be screaming.’ There are certain songs that you owe to the fans to play because they’re part of who you are as a band.”

“Without naming names, there are certain bands that you know you want to hear that song when you go to a show. So there’s a part of the setlist that writes itself. That being said, yes, we’re going to delve quite deeply and find some songs from previous albums that we’re going to work with and release. So there will probably be at least two or three deep cuts in that setlist.”

Rob Halford commented on three songs released from the new album.

Audacy Check In channel , the Judas Priest frontman made some observations about the released songs from the new album Invincible Shield, which will be released by Sony Music.

Regarding the songs “Panic Attack” , “Trial by Fire” , and “Crown of Horns” , singles that had been released up to the time of the interview, he commented: “Their first three cuts, their first three tracks from their new album are very important because they have to send the right messages in terms of connectivity and what are they doing now? How is it going to sound? There will then be excitement and anticipation for their new music. Their fans around the world are like, 'What are they doing? I want to take a look, what's going on.'” The group also released a fourth single, “ The Serpent And The King ”.

He continued: “I’ll tell you what was really cool, because there’s that great intro to [the first single] ‘Panic Attack which starts with guitars that sound almost like Turbo … And I thought, I just know our fans will be listening and asking, ‘What the hell is this shit? What are they doing now?’ Which is exactly what we wanted to do in terms of grabbing their attention, getting them focused and ready, because when that song starts, when those first rhythm riffs start playing and then the band is taking off, we’re off the launchpad immediately. … And Priest fans are saying, ‘Thank God for that. Because that’s exactly what I wanted.’ … The structures, the arrangements, the DNA of that song are full of beautiful metal tracks that take this band back to ‘Sad Wings Of Destiny’ and beyond.”

In the interview, it was mentioned that none of the first three songs released from Invincible Shield sound similar to each other, and Halford agreed. “I’m very pleased with how we released these first three tracks because, again, it shows the breadth of this band’s ability to take you to all these different places,” he said. “These three songs are nothing alike. They are three songs, but when they are connected to the rest of the material, you get, again, this beautiful album definition of what Priest is doing and representing in 2024.”

Judas Priest's new album is scheduled for release on March 8th, and on the 11th of the same month the band will embark on a European tour along with Saxon and Uriah Heep .
