In an interview with Stage Right Secrets during the 67th Grammy Awards , Rob Halford , lead singer of Judas Priest , spoke about the band's musical evolution.

Halford says that "we've always kept an eye on what's happening around us," and that because of this, over the decades, heavy metal has become a form of expression that spans from its origins to the present.

For him, this creates a sense of constant relevance, thus connecting him with the world, and especially his fans. ( via Blabbermouth )

“Metal has done that for us [Judas Priest] for the last five decades. If you look at any specific decade of the band's life, you'll see something that shows we're in rhythm, and we're connected to everything.”

"It's all really that thread, that thread of heavy metal, that's connecting us. And that makes us feel great, makes us feel good that we're still here, still vital and doing what we love so much."
