The meeting was particularly special because it was one of Dylan's songs, "The Ballad Of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest," that inspired the heavy metal band's name. "One of the guys from the record label said to me, 'Bob Dylan is here, do you want to meet him?' and I replied [enthusiastically], 'Of course, who doesn't want to meet Bob Dylan?'"

“So this guy took me into a room and Bob was there with about five or six girls around him,” he continues. “The guy from the record label came up to him and said, ‘Bob, I want to introduce you to someone. This is Rob Halford, he’s from the metal band Judas Priest.’ And Bob says, ‘Hey, how’s it going? What’s up?’ and I reply, ‘Hi, Bob, it’s great to meet you.’”

“Then he asks, ‘Where are you from?’ and I say, ‘From Birmingham,’ and he says, ‘Birmingham? [pause]. How’s Ozzy [ Osbourne ] doing?’ And then I was escorted out of the place,” Halford concludes.
