Rob Halford, the god of metal, says he's having fun recording a solo blues album.

Judas Priest's vocalist is experimenting with new sounds: "It's a lot of fun"

Rob Halford said he's having a lot of fun working on his solo blues album. The Judas Priest is working with the same team from the 2019 Christmas album Celestial , including his brother Nigel and his nephew Alex .

Speaking about his work on Full Metal Jackie (via Blabbermouth ), he said: “The blues is just an expansive landscape of different styles and subgenres and everything else, much like metal, so I’m really intrigued and excited about how this blues album is going to sound. You may have heard that we have the basics ready, I just have to find the time to put my own work into the project.”

“It’s a lot of fun. Everything should have that fun element. It’s an adventure again, like everything in music. As long as you’re having fun and something is emerging, give it a chance. That’s what we’re doing.”

He went on to say that the album will be “interesting” because he will be working with many different elements of the blues. “It won’t be one specific sound track after another. We’re going to try to go everywhere and mix it all up.”

The vocalist said he has no estimate of when the album will be ready, as he is taking his time and enjoying the process.
