Rob Halford's life isn't all about heavy metal . In a conversation with Regis Tadeu and Paulo Baron Judas Priest vocalist spoke about his admiration for singer Cher.
While formulating his question, Paulo Baron joked that Judas Priest would have opened for KISS in the late 70s just so Rob could have a chance to get close to the singer, who at the time was in a relationship with Gene Simmons , which made Halford laugh.
“She has the most beautiful voice, a very beautiful texture to her voice. It’s unique,” said the Metal God. “There’s only one Cher in her voice, in her image, in her humanitarianism, in her philanthropy, and this long life she’s had in music with this enduring power she’s had. She’s still an icon and still has so much influence and respect… She’s a remarkable lady.”
"She's someone I've always wanted to sit down with and have a cup of tea or eat something or just talk about life, talk about everything, because, again, she's so sincere and sweet and genuine about everything she does," the musician added.
Rob Halford also mentioned other female names in music such as Doro, Taylor Momsen [ The Pretty Reckless ], Maria Brink [ In This Moment ], and even Lady Gaga. “What I love about the current world and music is the immediate connection you have,” said Halford. “You can always find new and interesting moments, and what I mean by that is that this morning, while I was having my coffee, I was always checking my social media and my Instagram, and I had access to many different types of music.”
