Riviera Gaz releases "Monomania" this Thursday, the 18th, a new song from their upcoming album Catacroma. The LP will be available on August 20th on all streaming platforms worldwide and on vinyl via Vampire Blues.
Their second album embraces a deeper collaboration and an extensive mixing and editing process, expanding what began as more straightforward rock songs into cosmic, strange, and expansive experiences.
Formed by guitarist and vocalist Gustavo Riviera (leader of the Brazilian band Forgotten Boys), multi-instrumentalist Paulo Kishimoto (Pitty), and drummer Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), Riviera Gaz released their debut EP Pere Ubu in 2016, followed by the album Connection in 2018. Now, the trio begins a new chapter with their new single.
The song sounds like a road movie soundtrack, with constantly transforming landscapes, shifting colors, and a steady rhythm that leads the listener from earthly horizons to a post-industrial future. The music video is already available on YouTube.

Riviera Gaz is a multinational trio formed by guitarist and vocalist Gustavo Riviera (leader of the Brazilian band Forgotten Boys), multi-instrumentalist Paulo Kishimoto (Pitty, Forgotten Boys), and drummer Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth). Since its formation in 2016, the group has been building a psychedelic collective consciousness where fuzz riffs, glam rock energy, fearless studio experimentation, and grooves inspired by Can merge to create new and unstable sonic elements.
The band's debut EP, Pere Ubu, was released in 2016, followed by their first album, Connection, in 2018.
