Guitarist says there will be few performances
Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore said in an interview with the French newspaper Le Parisien that he may do rock shows in 2016. Blackmore stopped playing music from his Deep Purple and Rainbow roots in 1997, when he formed Blackmore's Night.
The guitarist clarified the rumors that he would return to playing songs from his old bands, saying, “The rumors are partially true, but I’m still not sure about things. I’m thinking about doing some shows, playing Rainbow and Deep Purple, but I have to decide which people I’d like to work with. I have some ideal candidates in mind, but it would be unfair to reveal anything now.”
According to Blackmore, he should decide who to work with later this month, but there will be few live performances: "It would only be about three or four shows."
