Rita Lee's legacy as the queen of Brazilian rock becomes an exhibition in São Paulo.

The singer's costumes and personal items are on display at the Museum of Image and Sound.

The life and career of Rita Lee has been transformed into a historic exhibition at the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) in São Paulo, which opened last Thursday, the 23rd.

The Samsung Rock Exhibition features hundreds of original items organized into 18 thematic areas that trace the trajectory of the Queen of Brazilian Rock, from Os Mutantes to her most recent ventures as a writer: costumes, song lyrics, drawings, paintings, instruments, personal objects, and places from Rita Lee's life recreated for public viewing.

The selection of material was made by the artist herself alongside João Lee , son of the legendary singer and curator of the exhibition. “I invite you to take a peek at the memories my mother kept from her 50 years working with music around the world, when she went on stage and shared her adventures with the audience, singing and dancing. Unforgettable, wonderful and fun times,” says João.

The exhibition will be open to the public until November 28th and runs from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm. Tickets cost R$50 (full price) and R$25 (half price), but admission is free from 10 am to 11:30 am between Tuesday and Friday. Learn more on the official MIS website .
