Rita Lee , queen of Brazilian rock and one of the greatest icons of the musical style in the country, died last Monday, May 8th, at the age of 75.
The news was confirmed by the artist's family in a statement published on social media. "We announce the passing of Rita Lee, at her residence in São Paulo, late last night, surrounded by all the love of her family, as she always wished," they wrote.
Rita Lee's wake will be open to the public at the Planetarium in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, this Wednesday, the 10th, from 10 am to 5 pm. Afterwards, the family will hold a private ceremony and the singer's body will be cremated, in accordance with her wishes expressed during her lifetime.
