Rita Lee 's legacy will be celebrated by her son, Beto Le , in the show CeLEEbration , which brings together the hits from the Queen of Rock's 50-year career in São Paulo.
Born from Rita's long-lasting relationship with Roberto de Carvalho , Beto Lee followed in the family's artistic footsteps and began playing guitar at the age of 10, earning a spot in the singer's band for 13 years until Rita's retirement in 2013.
CeLEEbration show is entirely dedicated to Rita Lee, featuring hits such as “Saúde”, “Lança Perfume”, “Ovelha Negra”, “Ando Meio Desligado”, “Agora Só Falta Você”, “On The Rocks”, “Mania de Você” and “Banho de Espuma”, performed by a band comprised of Beto Lee (vocals and guitar), Lee Marcucci (bass), Debora Reis (vocals), Danilo Santana (keyboards), Edu Salvitti (drums) and Rogerio Salmeron (guitar), all artists who have passed through the Rita Lee school.
“There I was, living the sweet little life in the countryside surrounded by animals and plants, when my son Beto called asking for my blessing to put together a show with hits from my 50 years in the music business,” commented Rita Lee about her son's project. “Thinking about it, nobody would have a better background for such a project, since he played with me for thirteen years and knows better than anyone what it was like to live with his parents on and off stage. Besides, he plays the guitar masterfully and knows all the original arrangements.”.
The show aims to be a grand celebration of the artist's career and legacy. “It is with enormous pleasure that I will celebrate my mother's life and work. A task that is anything but easy, after all, it's decades of history and music! But I feel that everything has its right time to happen. And I am ready to face this project as it deserves, after all, these songs will always be a part of me too, of my education as a musician and, of course, as a person,” stated Beto.
