Ringo Starr , the legendary former Beatle , confirmed that the band planned to make a new album after Abbey Road .
“When we did Abbey Road, we thought, ‘This is really good,’” the drummer told BBC 6 Music (via NME ). “Nobody said, ‘Okay, this will be the last time we play together,’ nobody said that. I never felt that would happen.”
Starr also hinted that the group was thinking of taking a break and then getting back together to write new music. The drummer's revelation came a month after recordings of the Beatles discussing a new album were found.
Until recently, fans believed that the Fab Four's plan was to end the group after Abbey Road . Despite never recording anything else after the album, the members reunited for side projects, such as the recently released song by Starr and Paul McCartney . The duo did a cover of John Lennon .
