Ringo Starr returns to country music on his new album 'Look Up'.

The album will be produced by T-Bone Burnett and will feature Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, and Molly Tuttle.

Ringo Starr is back to country music with his new album Look Up , produced and co-written by T-Bone Burnett . It will be released on January 10, 2025, but the track “Time On My Hands” is already available.

The album will consist of 11 unreleased tracks and was recorded earlier this year in Nashville and Los Angeles, in the United States. According to Consequence Sound , the idea was born from a chance encounter with musician T-Bone Burnett at an event in Los Angeles in 2022.

During the meeting, Starr reportedly asked Burnett to write a song for his project, which he was recording at the time, but to Burnett's surprise, T-Bone returned with nine country-based songs, thus creating the foundation for the album.

Look Up will be his first country album since Beaucoups Of Blues (1970) and will feature Daniel Tashian and Bruce Sugar as co-producers. Billy Strings , Molly Tuttle and Alison Krauss will also make multiple appearances on the album, along with Lucius and Larkin Poe .

Starr comments that he has always been a fan of country music and that when he asked T-Bone to write him a song, he "didn't think it was going to be a country song," according to Consequence Sound . Ringo's original idea was to release a country EP, but when Burnett brought nine songs instead of one, he "knew they had to make an album."

Burnett reveals he has always liked Ringo Starr "for as long as he can remember": "He changed the way all the drummers after him played. And he always sang killer rockabilly, as well as being a heartbreaking ballad singer. Getting to make music with him is the realization of a 60-year dream I've been living."

To celebrate the album's release, Ringo Starr will perform at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on January 14th and 15th, 2025.
