Have you ever forgotten your mother's or girlfriend's birthday, or mixed everything up and arrived at an appointment that wasn't this Monday, but next Monday? Have you ever said "Merry Christmas" on New Year's Eve? Now you and Ringo Starr have, in a way, something in common.
Last Wednesday, the 9th, the artist posted on his official Twitter profile, “ John [Lennon] would be 80 [years old] today I send you peace and love and I still miss you man peace and love to Yoko and Sean [sic].” A loving message, if it weren't for one detail: Starr preempted the tribute to his friend, and posted it a month before the correct date.
After the tweet caused a stir, Ringo wrote, “What happened is that sometimes you wake up in the morning and you don’t know where you are, the pandemic is driving us crazy [sic]. I still love John but it’s not his birthday until next month, peace and love [sic]. Better early than never.”
On Lennon's birthday, on the correct date this time, several celebrations are expected to take place, including the release of GIMME SOME TRUTH , an essential collection from the icon.
