Last Sunday, March 19th, Rick Allen spoke out for the first time after being assaulted by 19-year-old Max Hartley attack, which took place on March 13th in front of the Four Seasons hotel, caused head injuries to the musician.
“Thank you all for your tremendous support. Your love and prayers are truly helping. Thankfully, my wife Lauren wasn’t with me at the time of the incident. We are together now and working towards a safe recovery,” wrote the Def Leppard on social media.
“We are focusing on improving the lives of everyone involved. We ask that you join us in our effort to move from confusion and shock to compassion and empathy. We understand that this act of violence can be triggering for so many people.”
The assailant's lawyer also spoke out. He told the Miami Herald that Hartley "never had any trouble with the law before." Furthermore, according to Fox News , the teenager was allegedly intoxicated during the violent incident.
