Richie Kotzen has released the single “Insomnia”, the latest release from his upcoming studio album Nomad , which will be released on September 27th.
“Insomnia” is the third single from Nomad, and when talking about the track, Kotzen says: “I woke up to that chorus melody and, at that moment, I had no idea that the title would be 'Insomnia'. Although the song was written around the chorus melody, the final recording depends a lot on the bass and how it's handled.”
“I have more than one bass line playing at the same time to achieve the sound you’re hearing,” Kotzen continues. “It’s interesting that I’m known as a guitarist, but the bass plays such an integral role in my music and my songwriting process. A lot of what I create comes from the bass lines I write.”
Written, recorded, and produced by Richie Kotzen, Nomad features eight tracks, with the musician playing almost all the instruments on the album.
