Winery Dogs reunion , but it's almost there! Guitarist and vocalist Richie Kotzen invited his colleague and drummer Mike Portnoy for the unreleased track "Raise the Chain," which you can listen to below.
In a post on his Facebook page, Kotzen explained: “So after releasing an album with 50 original songs earlier this year, I had no intention of releasing any more music this year. At least not until I did some shows promoting 50 for 50 … Well, that didn’t happen… LOL. Suddenly I found myself, like all of us, stuck and wondering, what now?”
The vocalist goes on to say that he felt inspired during the pandemic and some of his ideas came while talking to his friend Portnoy on the phone. “Initially I thought about releasing [the song and other material] on a full album when reality returned. Why? Why hold onto a finished song and leave it quiet until who knows when? There’s no reason for that, so here’s another RK single featuring the killer drumming of master Mike Portnoy. Hope you enjoy it!”
