Richie Kotzen has announced the release of Nomad , his new solo album, along with the single "On the Table," which is already available.
The album is scheduled for release on September 27th via BMG: “I was very happy with the news that BMG wanted to release this album as I envisioned it, without artistic compromise,” Kotzen said in a press release.
“I love the fact that the BMG team placed their creative trust in me and my vision without redesigning… the focus is on what we can do to help you beyond what you’ve already done as a musical artist.”
“The attitude seems to be: ‘you did the work as a writer-producer-musician, now let us pick up the ball and run.’ This feels like the start of an incredible journey for me and a sort of reconfiguration in an industry that’s becoming more complex to navigate for a solo artist.”
The artist will tour the United States to promote the album, starting in September in California.
“I was extensively exposed to soul, funk, and R&B music, but at the same time I was a hard rock fan,” said Kotzen, who wrote, recorded, and produced the album. “So I have this kind of interesting dynamic happening with my music, where you hear elements of Parliament or Curtis Mayfield , but at the same time you also have the early influence of Rod Stewart from Bad Company .”
