Judas Priest announced the postponement of their 50 Heavy Metal Years last Monday, the 27th, Richie Faulkner 's emergency hospitalization . The guitarist needed to undergo heart surgery, but the band has not released further information about the musician's health status.

According to new information, Faulkner underwent open-heart surgery, or open-cardiac surgery, lasting 10 hours after suffering a heart attack at the end of Judas Priest's show at the Louder Than Life .

The details were shared by Frank Hannon of Tesla in a message of support for his colleague, as reported by Blabbermouth . “Sending love and healing power to Richie Faulkner. We haven’t met yet, but he’s a rock n’ roll brother that my guitarist friends love very much and tell me what a great guy he is. I heard he played a show, went off stage, had a heart attack and underwent 10 hours of heart surgery last night. Hang in there, Richie! I look forward to meeting you and playing together someday,” he posted.

In an update about her bandmate , girlfriend Mariah Lynch reported that Faulkner was "stable and resting." She also praised the guitarist for his strength in finishing the show normally when he fell ill. "[He is] so strong that he finished the show and kept tossing his hair. There's no one like him," she wrote.
