Judas Priest had to postpone the remainder of their current US tour after guitarist Richie Faulkner was hospitalized on Monday, the 27th. An update on the musician's condition reported that he is stable and recovering.
There is still no more precise information about the nature of the "major heart problem" that affected Faulkner, but the guitarist underwent emergency surgery. According to Mariah Lynch , the musician's partner, his condition is now stable.
“Thank you all for all your messages, I will try to respond as soon as I can. Richie underwent major emergency heart surgery. He is stable and resting,” she wrote, posting a photo with the couple’s daughter. “If you know him, you know how tough and strong he is. So strong that he finished the show and kept tossing his hair. There’s no one like him. We would be lost without him.”.
50 Heavy Metal Years tour began on September 8th and was scheduled to run until early November. Tickets purchased remain valid, and the band has promised updates soon.
