In an interview with Sticks For Stones, Pantera bassist Rex Brown talked about the sound of his new solo album, "Smoke On This," where he plays guitar and sings.

Brown spoke about the expectations the public has of the work he has released since the end of Pantera: "People expect to hear a Pantera song every time I release something, and that tires me out."

No, there isn't a single track there that sounds like Pantera. Not one. And I did that intentionally. I've already done that, man. Why go back?

"Pantera broke up a long time ago, you understand? Fifteen years. There will never be another one. There will never be a new Pantera album. People have to learn to swallow it or forget it.".

“Smoke On This” will be released on July 28th.
