Aerosmith fans received sad news late last Friday, the 2nd, when the band released a statement saying they would no longer be performing live . The news triggered much lamentation, as the decision was motivated by Steven Tyler to fully recover from injuries to his vocal cords.
Aerosmith's farewell tour, Peace Out , began last September. However, after only three shows, Tyler suffered a laryngeal injury, forcing the postponement of all subsequent dates. The tour was scheduled to resume on September 20th of this year, but with Tyler's recovery still uncertain, the band opted to cancel the tour and announce his retirement from performing.
Even though they were saddened, several musicians praised Aerosmith's decision, highlighting the band's courage and dignity in ending their live performances. As for the possibility of releasing new music, that remains uncertain and depends on the group's next steps.
Meanwhile, all that remains for fans of the band is to reminisce about past successes. Below, you can watch the band's last performance in its entirety, at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, in the United States.
