Redemption's new vocalist is Tom Englund, from Evergrey
The American progressive metal band Redemption has released the music video for the song "Someone Else's Problem," which is part of the band's seventh album, Long Night's Journey Into Day , to be released on July 27th by Metal Blade Records. The album was produced by Jacob Hansen, who has previously worked with Volbeat, Primal Fear, Amaranthe , and Doro , and is the band's first with Tom Englund of Evergrey on vocals, replacing Ray Alder .
“We couldn’t tour [the album] The Art Of Loss because Ray could no longer actively participate in Redemption, so we decided it was time to part ways shortly after its release,” said guitarist Nick Van Dyk. “Ray is a dear friend, and I have nothing but respect and love for him and what we created together. But at some point, it became unsustainable.”
“Because of the power of his voice and the emotion he brings, this won’t be a shocking transition for fans,” says Van Dyk. “Tom is also a very versatile vocalist, and being a songwriter, he has tremendous melodic and compositional sensitivity, and besides, we’ve known each other for many years, and there’s a level of respect that’s not just professional, but also personal.”.
