Red Hot Chili Peppers releases unreleased snippet of song featuring John Frusciante.

The band surprised fans by posting 18 seconds of a mysterious track.

John Frusciante is officially back with the Red Hot Chili Peppers , and to show fans it's real, the band surprised fans this Friday, the 28th, by releasing a mysterious snippet that appears to be from a new track.

In the 18-second video released by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frusciante's guitar can be heard prominently, accompanied by Flea . The band has not yet mentioned a possible new release nor explained what the teaser is about.

In September, the Red Hot Chili Peppers officially announced John Frusciante's return with a world tour featuring the guitarist . It's speculated that the band's new album may be released in May . Frusciante is part of the album, which, according to Flea, sounds "different and new."
