Wikimetal Red Hot Chili Peppers album , Unlimited Love their first with John Frusciante since 2006, when they released Arcadium Stadium .
The event was promoted by Warner Music , the band's record label, at The Flaming Youth Experience, a new venue in São Paulo.
Here, we'll give you a full review of what we thought of the new album!
Unlimited Love features a mix of danceable songs, lots of rap, and more sung tracks, Frusciante's powerful and raw guitar work (YES, HE'S BACK! and he's back with a vengeance!), Flea's bass playing is very present in all the songs, giving them his own unique weight.
Although the band chose "Black Summer," "Poster Child," and "Not the One" as singles, these aren't their best songs. The "save the best for last" strategy worked, because the album is very good.
The best songs with a heavier feel are: “These Are The Ways” (which will have a music video released at 1 AM Brasília time), and “Whatchu Thinkin'”. I really liked both; they reminded me of the old Red Hot Chili Peppers, going back to their roots.
“Bastards of Light”, “White Braids & Pillow Chair”, and “One Way Traffic” are good, more commercial songs that will likely get radio and TV airplay. My favorite of the three was “One Way Traffic”. “The Heavy Wing” is a promising song to get the crowd going at concerts.
Overall, the album has a strong groove, with clear references to Jazz and Blues. Clearly, Frusciante's return greatly impacted this album, with his shredding guitar in certain songs and unique compositions.
Unlimited Love is the best Chili Peppers album in recent times.
