After releasing a mysterious snippet that appears to belong to a new song , the Red Hot Chili Peppers heightened fans' anticipation this Wednesday, the 2nd, by posting a video of a band rehearsal focusing on a guitar solo by John Frusciante.

The solo in question appears to be unreleased and may or may not be part of the same song that was released in the recent teaser. In addition to the previews revealed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a fan club of the band has speculated that the quartet may release a new song called "Black Summer" this Friday, the 4th. There has been no official announcement from the musicians yet.

Regardless of when the Red Hot Chili Peppers decide to break their silence and gift us with a new song, it's worth remembering that the song in question will be the first in 16 years with the classic lineup consisting of Anthony Kiedis , Flea , Chad Smith, and John Frusciante.
