The Red Hot Chili Peppers released this Friday, the 19th, the single “Tippa My Tongue”, the first from their new album Return Of The Dream Canteen.
The song playfully blends rock with American funk, also incorporating references to the 1970s. “Tippa My Tongue” was released with a music video which you can watch at the end of this article.
The album was announced as a surprise in July and is scheduled for release on October 14th. This is the first time the Red Hot Chili Peppers have released two albums in the same year. In April, the band released the album Unlimited Love , their first since John Frusciante 's return .
The sequel to Unlimited Love , it seems, was a result of the time Anthony Kiedis spent in the studio with Flea and Chad Smith .
Return Of The Dream Canteen , which is already available for pre-order , will be a double album with 17 tracks produced by Rick Rubin . Check out the cover art and tracklist after the video.

New album from Red Hot Chili Peppers
When announcing the album, the group released a statement on their official website that read: “We went in search of ourselves as the band we somehow always were. Just for fun, we jammed and learned some old songs. A short time later we began the mysterious process of building new music. A beautiful piece of chemistry that had brought us together hundreds of times along the way.”
“When we found that flow of sound and vision, we kept mining. With time transformed into an elastic waistband with oversized underwear, we had no reason to stop composing and making rock and roll. It felt like a dream. When everything was finished, our temperamental love for each other and the magic of music had gifted us with more songs than we knew what to do with. Well, then we understood. Two double albums in a row. The second being easily as significant as the first, or vice versa. Return of the Dream Canteen is everything we are and always dreamed of being. It's packaged.”
And they signed the text with: "Made with the blood of our hearts, sincerely."
