The band performed at a private event in Los Angeles.

On the 8th, the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in Los Angeles with John Frusciante , marking the group's first show since the guitarist's return.

The event where the performance took place celebrated the life of Andrew Burkle , son of Ron Burkle, one of the owners of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. Andrew was found dead at the age of 27 on January 6th.

With Frusciante, Anthony Kiedis and Flea played “Give It Away” and “I Wanna Be Your Dog” by Iggy Pop and the Stooges. The group was missing Chad Smith , who was replaced by Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction , as the drummer was in Florida presenting his art exhibition.
