The band streamed the entire show online.

Last Friday the 13th, the Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a historic performance at the pyramids of Egypt for more than 10,000 people.

With the silhouette of the three monuments behind the stage, the band opened the show with “Can't Stop”, from the album By The Way (2002), followed by “Californication” and “Dark Necessities”. After a few hits, the band decided to do a very convenient cover. Josh Klinghoffer put down his guitar and sat at the piano to play “Pyramid Song”, by Radiohead , released in 2001 on the album Amnesiac .

The event was promoted by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, which is seeking to boost the country's tourism, which has declined since the 2011 revolution. Anthony Kiedis, Flea , and Chad Smith join names like The Grateful Dead, Scorpions , and Frank Sinatra in performing at one of the seven wonders of the world.
