Red Hot Chili Peppers released HD versions of the music videos from the album Californication (1999) last Friday, the 25th.

The updated graphics for the music videos of “Around The World”, “Scar Tissue”, “Otherside”, the title track “Californication” and “Road Trippin'” are part of the album's 25th anniversary celebrations, resulting in a new pressing of the double vinyl in a limited edition with one disc in red and one disc in navy blue.

Californication milestone in the Chili Peppers' trajectory, which, with the return of guitarist John Frusciante , brought the group back to the top of the American charts and became the band's best-selling studio album to date.

The music video for the title track “Californication” was a huge hit in the 2000s and remains popular today.

The video has an aesthetic that simulates a video game where Anthony Kiedis , Flea , John Frusciante, and Chad Smith go through stages/scenarios and challenges which are mentioned in the song's lyrics.

At the end of 2022, "Californication" became the first Red Hot Chili Peppers music video to surpass one billion views on YouTube and remains a gateway for new audiences to discover the Californian band.
