Red Hot Chili Peppers: “Californication” becomes a video game

A Spanish programmer created the game unofficially, but it won over the biggest fans of RHCP

A Spanish programmer named Miquel Camps Orteza created a game inspired by the one seen throughout the music video for "Californication," the title track from one of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' most acclaimed albums.

The game features several iconic moments from the music video and allows players to explore various scenes interactively, including snowboarding jumps and flying on the red mosquito.

Now available for download on Mac and PC, Californication – The Videogame is a virtual experience in which players take on the role of one of the four original members of the band to adventure through various game modes.

Miquel created the game completely independently, but the graphics are well-reproduced. Check out the trailer below.

After releasing the game worldwide, Miquel created a Twitter account to interact with fans and ended up receiving several requests to add guitarist Josh Klinghoffer as a character. He asked in a tweet what people thought, and the responses were divided: some said it didn't make sense because he wasn't on the album, while others were asking Miquel to go further and include other former band members, such as Dave Navarro, Hillel Slovak, Jack Irons , and more.
