According to a report from the New Orleans police, Rayna Foss , former bassist for the nu metal band Coal Chamber, has been missing for approximately four months.
Foss, now 51, was last seen on September 7, 2021, and reported missing by her household group representative. She has been missing ever since.
Foss is a founding member of Coal Chamber, which emerged during the heyday of nu metal. The bassist was part of the band from 1994 to 1999 and briefly returned to the group in the 2000s. She played on Coal Chamber's debut album, their subsequent album, Chamber Music , and 2002's Dark Days
In an old interview, Rayna recounted that she started playing bass almost by accident, having seen the instrument at a friend's house and received it as a gift. “That was six months before I joined the band,” she recalls. “I took the bass home and started playing. I was working with Dez , and when they were looking for a new bassist, she said she had a friend at work who played bass. And I didn't really play. But he called me, told me to audition, and I said 'fuck it'. I went and joined the band. Eight days later I played my first show.”
