Randy Rhoads , the unforgettable guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne , has been posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This information comes from Loudwire .
Nearly 40 years after his death in a tragic plane crash , the musician will be honored by the institution at this year's induction ceremony with the Musical Excellence Award , described as an honor "for artists, musicians, composers and producers whose originality and influence in creating music has had a dramatic impact on music."
In addition to Rhoads, this year's ceremony will also include LL Cool J and another posthumous award for keyboardist Billy Preston, who played with the Beatles, Rolling Stones , and Little Richard , in the same category.
