The late guitarist Randy Rhoads Musical Excellence Award at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the ceremony that took place last Saturday, the 30th . The award is given to "artists, musicians, composers or producers who have had a major impact on music thanks to their originality and influence".
Tom Morello , iconic guitarist of Rage Against the Machine , gave a video speech to introduce the award. He expressed many words of affection and admiration for Randy Rhoads and revealed that he named his son Rhoads.
Other rock stars appeared via video to honor the guitarist, including Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde , and Kirk Hammett . See some of these moments from the Hall of Fame below. Rhoads died in a plane crash on March 19, 1982, at only 25 years old.
