The saga of the search for Randy Rhoads is not yet over, but the musician's guitar and amplifier have been returned to his family after more than a year of searching.
Among the stolen treasures were Rhoads' first electric guitar, amplifiers, and even a family trumpet, all on display at the Musonia in Los Angeles, California, which was the target of an attack on Thanksgiving night in 2019.
At the time of the robbery, Ozzy Osbourne offered a $25,000 reward for the guitar and made an appeal on social media. "As you can imagine, the stolen instruments are completely irreplaceable objects for this family," he posted. Almost a month after the robbery, some of the equipment was found in the trash , but the main instrument was missing.
According to a report by Blabbermouth , Randy's sister used social media to confirm the return of the guitar and amplifier to the family this Wednesday, the 19th. "I'm so grateful for this, I have no words," she wrote. "I can't answer any questions, it's an ongoing investigation, so don't ask me."
Some of the items are still missing, and the case remains with the North Hollywood Police Department.
