In March, Rammstein announced that they had recorded their eighth studio album during the pandemic. Since then, the band has kept the suspense about what's to come, but one person was lucky enough to hear a snippet of the new work: French astronaut Thomas Pesquet .

Through an Instagram post, drummer Christoph 'Doom' Schneider revealed that he played a song from the new album for the astronaut who has been aboard the International Space Station for six months.

“It was like fulfilling a childhood dream for me – talking to someone who is living in space, sharing a glimpse of his vision, realizing again how small we are compared to the immensity of the universe,” Doom wrote. “He was the first to hear one of our songs from the new album. It premiered in heaven, which is an honor for us.”

There is still no information regarding the album's release date.
