The two bands with the same name have albums marked
Queensrÿche, fronted by Geoff Tate, has announced the release of a new album, titled "Frequency Unknown," on April 23rd. The CD is their first since the feud that split the band last year.
Since then, Tate has assembled a new lineup, featuring bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot/Ozzy Osbourne/Whitesnake/Dio/Blue Oyster Cult), guitarists Robert Sarzo (Hurricane) and Kelly Gray (Queensryche 1998 – 2001), keyboardist Randy Gane (Myth), and drummer Simon Wright (AC/DC/Dio).
The album will also feature big names as special guests; Chris Poland (Megadeth), Ty Tabor (King's X), KK Downing (Judas Priest), and Paul Bostaph (Slayer/Testament) are just a few.
The album will feature 10 new songs and four covers of Queensÿche classics.
The news of Geoff Tate's new album came two days after the other Queensrÿche (with Todd La Torre on vocals) announced a new album scheduled for June 11th. The two bands are still fighting in court over the use of the name "Queensrÿche".
