Parker Lundgren announced that he has left Queensrÿche to pursue new projects. The news was released by the guitarist and the band itself on the evening of last Friday, the 2nd.

“For over a decade we’ve had the pleasure of watching him evolve and grow as a guitarist, songwriter, and most importantly, an incredible human being,” the band wrote in a statement. “Parker will always be part of the family and we wish him all the success in the world in his new adventures.”

Lundgren explained the reason for his departure in a statement, saying that in recent years he has become very interested in the market for buying and selling guitars and other rare instruments. “This passion led me to open a guitar shop in 2019 called Diablo Guitars. Since then the business has grown and now I have acquired a repair shop.”

He explains that with the growth of his investments, he was having difficulty balancing his work with being the guitarist for Queensryche. “I wish all the best to my bandmates, crew, and everyone who supported us. I hope I have their support as I venture into new things.”

The band has not yet revealed who will replace Lundgren. Currently, the group consists of vocalist Todd La Torre , original guitarist Michael Wilton , and original bassist Eddie Jackson . Drummer Scott Rockenfield has not officially left the band but has not performed with them since 2017. Casey Grillo has been performing with them in his place.
