Brian May stated that Queen will not perform at the Glastonbury Festival due to "political differences".

The band has never performed at the festival, and the guitarist reiterated that he will not play in 2027. In a new interview with the Daily Mail , Brian said: “I wouldn’t perform at Glastonbury next year because of the politics of the people who organize it. Unless that changes, I won’t perform. They like killing badgers and think it’s for sport. And that’s something I can’t support. Because we’ve been trying to save these badgers for years, and they keep getting killed, and that’s why we’re losing opportunities.”

Since 2019, Brian May has been expressing his disagreement with the festival's founder, Michael Eavis , who supports badger culling, explaining that the band would "never" play at the festival due to differences of opinion.

Previously, Michael Eavis , who is also a milk producer, called May a "danger to agriculture." He also said that "he doesn't care about badgers, he knows absolutely nothing about them" [via NME ]. Michael further argued that the process is a fight against bovine tuberculosis, since the practice of killing badgers is generally related to pest or disease control in the UK.

Brian May is the co-founder of the animal welfare organization Save Me , which campaigns against fox hunting and badger killing.
