Queen will be the face of British postage stamps; find out more.

“It’s difficult to put into words what I feel looking at these beautiful stamps,” says Brian May.

After the Beatles and Pink Floyd , Queen will be the latest band to have their faces featured on Royal Post stamps in England. The reason for this is to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary.

Starting July 9th, a series of 13 stamps featuring eight album covers from the band, four photo essays, and a classic group photo will be available for purchase. The album covers include Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, News Of The World, The Game, Greatest Hits, The Works, and Innuendo .

“It’s difficult to put into words what I feel looking at these beautiful stamps,” admits Brian May . “Since we four young boys began our journey 50 years ago, our lives have been dedicated to making our impossible dream a reality. Sometimes it’s strange to wake up and realize the position we’re in now – we’ve become a national institution!”

“Nothing brings this house closer than this incredible tribute from the Royal Mail. It’s particularly poignant to look at this collection of images now – now that we’re all in a world dominated by the coronavirus, in which none of this could have happened,” May concluded to the press.

“We really should be part of the furniture now! Thank you Royal Mail for including us! I appreciate it,” declared drummer Roger Taylor .
