Queen will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of their Greatest Hits album with a special edition. The announcement was made on the band's official website.
Originally released on October 26, 1981, the album will receive a limited edition with an exclusive cover and a new format, both to be released on July 2nd at the group's official store .
In addition, the Official Queen Online Store will exclusively offer a limited edition of one thousand collector's copies of the Greatest Hits colored CD, with each copy personally signed by Brian May and Roger Taylor.
According to the Official Charts Company , Queen's compilation album is the most popular album in Great Britain in the last 60 years. Research indicates that one in four British households owns a copy of the record.
Greatest Hits was the first and only album to have sold over 6 million copies in the UK (6.75 million sales to date) with global sales exceeding 25 million. In addition, the collection has spent over 900 weeks on the UK charts.
