Roger Taylor , drummer for Queen , gave an interview to Uncut magazine via Music News , in which he mentioned a possible album release with unreleased tracks since the posthumous Made In Heaven in 1995.
During the chat, Taylor revealed a recent conversation he had with guitarist Brian May , thus leaving fans hopeful for new material.
“We were talking the other day, and we both said that we feel we have some good material, so why not? We can still play. We can still sing. So I don’t see why not.”
Since Freddie Mercury in 1991, the only album with unreleased tracks was Made In Heaven , released posthumously almost 30 years ago.
In October 2022, Queen released the song "Face It Alone," featuring vocals by Mercury.
It's worth remembering that in 2004, Paul Rodgers took over as the band's vocalist, a role that was subsequently filled by Adam Lambert in 2011.
Possibility of a new album
In interviews conducted with Brian May throughout 2023, the guitarist commented on compositions made with Lambert: "It's just that you haven't heard any of it yet," he stated.
According to May, Lambert didn't feel any pressure composing with the band. But for the songs to be released, they had to be "on the level of Queen": "It has to be just right," he revealed.
