The biopic Bohemian Rhapsody , based on the story of Queen , was a box office success, grossing over US$904.4 million worldwide. Even though it was released in 2018, the film still generates a small daily fortune for the remaining members of the band.
According to data released by Music News, Queen Productions' finances changed significantly after the film's release; in the year prior to the release, the band's average cash flow was around £21 million, with a profit of £11.8 million, excluding fees.
Following the film's enormous success, turnover grew to £42 million, as indicated by 12-month figures from September 2019. Profit, considered before taxation, would be £19 million – more than R$134.5 million at the current exchange rate.
As NME , Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon Freddie Mercury 's estate earn around £100,000 a day from the film's profits alone, which is approximately R$701,000 daily.
