I don't know about you, but here at Wikimetal, two questions are frequently asked in our daily lives. The first is: where is that vaccine?! And the second: what to listen to now? As much as we'd like to, the first question is somewhat indeterminate, but the second, in the ninth part of our series, we share the Brazilian bands you need to know.
1) Artists from Guarulhos , Evandro Cardoso, Paulo Ladeira, and Rodrigo Souza , together form The Basement Rocks . This band, like many others, began its career playing great classics of music, and now, influenced by the 70s and 80s, released its first album this June, the unmissable Turning Water into Wine , which you can listen to below.
2) Raising Conviction , a metal band from Minas Gerais formed by Julimar Fernandes (vocals), Raul Duarte (guitar), Peter Roberto (guitar), Vinicius Santos (bass), and Alexandre Oliveira (drums), recently released the music video for "Enemies Ahead," which addresses the vital theme of depression and its harmful effects, but with a touch of encouragement for those going through these difficult times. The band, active since 2014, plans to release its first album later this year.

3) The band AKIRA is back after a hiatus with only two members and a mission: to showcase the evolution of their sound in a new EP. With references to Deftones, The Prodigy, and Rage Against The Machine , the first single of this new phase, "Prisão Digital" (Digital Prison), was released on the 8th and already comes with a striking music video. Check it out below!
4) The band As The Palaces Burn will release their newest EP, titled All the Evil .
“In this EP, I had the idea of telling the story of the events leading up to our debut album, End’evour . These events are portrayed through the phenomenal artwork conceived by Marcelo Vasco . In instrumental terms, I believe it has now been possible to establish the main characteristic features of the band's sound. These will become even more evident in future recordings,” says guitarist Diego Bittencourt .
The band is documenting the entire recording process of their new EP on their YouTube channel; check out the video below showing the production of the project.
5) The Paraíba-based quartet Venomous Breath recently released the lyric video for the track "The Tomb," a song that will be featured on the band's upcoming album, Svb Vmbra Occvltorvm , which will be released in the coming days. The band, which gained prominence after the release of their debut album Et Viscera Sanguis in 2014, with which they toured nationally and in Europe alongside bands like Caverna and Escanium, is now preparing for a new phase.

6) The São Paulo-based band Mokshers , whose name is derived from the word that guides the band, moksha , meaning self-realization, self-knowledge, and freedom, recently released their newest single, "This Blues Is For You," with influences from hard rock, blues, and names like Van Halen , Led Zeppelin , and Whitesnake .

7) The band Steep Gradient , formed by Brazilians Matheus Granjeiro and Carlos Almeida and American Mason Young , in the city of Los Angeles, recently released their debut single, titled "Somebody Else".
