Wikimetal Quarantine: Brazilian bands you need to know (Part 3)

The third part of the list includes Oceania, Blind Horse, Posthumous, Excalibur, and MOFO

Quarantine has been going on for a while now, and I imagine boredom is becoming a big problem, right? Here at Wikimetal ( everyone's at home), we never stop! We're always looking for new and good music to share with you.

So, we're starting a series of articles showcasing Brazilian bands to cheer you up during these dark times. In this third installment, we'll talk about Oceania, Blind Horse, Póstuma, Excalibur, and MOFO. Enjoy some good old heavy metal.

1) The band Oceania Minas Gerais is preparing their second studio album, Dark Matter , and has given a sneak peek with the single and music video for "Looking for the Exit". Expected to be released in the first half of this year, the album will feature eight songs inspired, according to them, by bands like Black Sabbath and Lamb of God.

The group, formed in 2016, features Gustavo Drummond on vocals and guitar, Daniel Debarry on bass, and Tulio Braga on drums. Their first album, *Beneath The Surface *, was released in 2017 and received considerable attention from the public. The band is definitely worth checking out! 2) If you like hard rock with hints of blues and jazz, you need to check out Blind Horse . The Rio de Janeiro-based quartet released their first full-length album, Patagonia , in 2017, showcasing incredible experimentalism.

Now, the group is preparing to release their second album, still without a title, and to give a taste of what's to come, the Rio de Janeiro natives have released two new compositions in a live format, recorded at Soma+Lab in Rio. “I Try to Learn Some Jazz With Sabbath” and “End of the World Blues” showcase the group's heavy, 70s-inspired riffs and the power of Delta blues.

Blind Horse consists of Alejandro Sainz (vocals), Rodrigo Blasquez (guitar), Eddie Asheton (bass), and Gabriel Santiago (drums). Listen to the songs below.

3) Formed in 2017 in Americana, in the interior of São Paulo, the band Póstuma combines death and thrash metal in their debut EP, Moralis Bia da Aldea 's voice brings something innovative to the sound.

Bia is accompanied by Murilo Pasqualino (drums), Julio Alves (guitar), Rodrigo Batista (guitar), and Diego Carmelo (bass). Listen to the EP below.

4) Excalibur was formed in 1999 in the city of Campos do Jordão, in the interior of São Paulo. After several lineup changes, the group released the EP * The End Is The Beginning…*

Eduardo Aurélio da Silva (drums, percussion and backing vocals), Marco Aurélio Fernandes de Araújo (guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards and backing vocals), Maurício Fernandes de Araújo Júnior (guitar and acoustic guitar), Marcelo Fernandes de Araújo (bass) and Kleber Ramalho (vocals – special guest) work with a sound inspired by the heaviness of power metal and the lyricism of classical music. 5) The Brazilian band MOFO debut Sick and Insane earlier this month 2017 Empire of Self-Regard

MOFO is formed by Emiliano Gomes (vocals), Arthur Colonna (guitar), Rodrigo “Shakal” (guitar), Pedro Dinis (bass) and João Paulo “Mancha” (drums). Listen to the album Sick and Insane below.
