Pulp is pleased to announce the release of a new, previously unreleased single, “Got To Have Love.” The track is the second sample from the band’s new album, More their first in almost 24 years — which will be released on June 6th, following their acclaimed comeback with “Spike Island” in April.

“It’s a somewhat hysterical song that tries to talk about love as I see it today,” reveals Jarvis Cocker about the track, which already seems destined to become a live anthem as soon as the band kicks off its arena tour in the UK and Ireland in June, with more dates—including a full North American tour—planned for this year.

A music video directed by Jarvis Cocker himself was created for the track, combining the music with images from the iconic documentary Wigan Casino (1977), directed by Tony Palmer . Mixing footage of dancers from the Northern Soul scene with the Pulp soundtrack, the video reinforces the danceable vibe of "Got To Have Love".

“I love to dance — and this is the best dance recording I’ve ever seen. I first saw it in Mark Leckey ” Jarvis comments.

“‘Love’ is a word I couldn’t say until I was approaching 40,” explains Jarvis Cocker. I listened to love songs all the time, but I couldn’t use that word in real life. The lyrics of this song are me having a serious conversation with myself about this situation. I gave myself a real wake-up call. Now I’ve learned to say ‘love’ while maintaining a serious expression. ‘You’ve got to have love.’ Oh, yes, you do.”
