Primus the US and Canada. The big news is that the shows will be a tribute to Rush .
Les Claypool 's band will be playing the classic album A Farewell To Kings in its entirety.
Along with Claypool, Larry LaLonde and Tim Alexander will perform a total of 46 shows from May to August. To honor Rush, the tour is named 'A Tribute To Kings'.
Primus will open the show playing the entire album A Farewell To Kings and after an intermission they will return with their own songs.
Wolfmother , The Sword , and Battles as opening acts .
Bassist and vocalist Les Claypool said the idea of paying tribute to Rush is an old one, but it was postponed during the tour with Slayer .
“We were trying to be very cautious about whether or not we should do this. We don’t want it to seem opportunistic because of Neil [ Peart ]’s death. It’s just out of admiration for these incredible musicians and friends.”
“We know Neil was a very private person. So I didn’t know how much he or his family would like this.”
Claypool then spoke to Geddy Lee , bassist and vocalist of Rush: “I kept in touch with Geddy – to make sure we weren’t doing something weird. Then I asked him what he thought and he was excited about the idea.”
